Border tensions: China deploys 300 troops in Ladakh, pulls out more than 100 tents

Tensions are rising in Ladakh between China and India over the border dispute. According to sources, 300 troops were deployed at three places in Ladakh, including Pangong So Sarovar and Galwa river valley. After which India has also deployed more troops.

According to sources, China has built several roads in the area near the Indian side of the Galwa River to bring troops and supply supplies. There is a meeting between officers of the 81st Brigade and their Chinese counterparts in the Dolat Bagh Oldi sector.


China pitched more than 100 tents

Sources say the Chinese army has strengthened its position by pulling out more than 100 tents in the last two weeks. Bunker making machines have also been turned on. The Indian Army has also started construction at both Galwa Sarovar and the valley area.

The Indian Army is in a good position in the area. There have also been reports of a number of attacks on Indian troops by Chinese troops in the past week, but this has not been confirmed.


Army chief arrives in Ladakh amid Indo-China tensions

Amid rising tensions between India and China over the earlier border dispute, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwan arrived in Ladakh on Saturday. Narwane was accompanied by Lieutenant General YK Joshi, Chief of Army's Northern Command, Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, Chief of the 14th Corps and other senior officers.
