Mumbai, Ta. 15 May 2020, Friday

According to a BARC report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech with an economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore was watched by 193 million (19.3 crore) viewers. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country, the Prime Minister has addressed the nation five times, with the fifth message having the highest viewing minutes.

According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council, the number of TV viewers declined during the week until May 8, when there was an increase during the lockdown. The lockdown, which began on March 25, has led to an increase in TV viewing in India as people stay at home. News and movies were the most watched but the launch of content based on Hindu mythology like Ramayana increased the number of viewers of the general entertainment channel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 33-minute speech focused on the development of a self-reliant India and was seen by 193 million people. However, it is a lower figure than the previous speech because the last speech was enjoyed by 203 million viewers. A total of 197 channels covered the speech, which is slightly lower than the final speech covered by 199 channels.
