The biggest emergency for the economy after independence is the help of the opposition: Rajan

New Delhi, Apr 6, 2020, Monday

Former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Raghuram Raj, has warned that the country's economy is going through one of the worst times since independence due to coronation.

Raj was told that this is the biggest post-independence emergency for the economy. Demand globally fell during the recession of 2008 but people in India were going to work. Companies were in a strong position and India's financial position was even better. Now that we're struggling against Corona, none of these aspects are in good shape.

He said that if done properly, India has the strength to sit back. India can build a strong foundation for the future. If this operation is done only from the PMO then it will not benefit much.

Raj was told that the government should call on people who have experience and abilities. There are some people in India who can help the government. The government should seek help from the opposition. Who has experience in dealing with previous crises. The lockdown has given us a good time to prepare. But we cannot endure the lockdown for long. In order to prevent the transition, economic activities must begin.
