Police have registered a crime against the imam who called people for prayers in the mosque despite lockdown and section 144 applicable in UP's Hardoi district.

According to police, 100 other people besides the Imam had gathered in the mosque to pray. People were notified about this and we proceeded to the place. With such a large number of people gathering, the risk of spreading corona infection increases.

Police said that action has been taken against the imam. A police complaint has also been registered against him.
