Sachin Pilot offended by Gehlot after political crisis in Rajasthan after Madhya Pradesh

Jaipur, Ta. 11 March 2020, Wednesday

After the political turmoil in Madhya Pradesh, now Rajasthan is shaking. Elections are to be held for the three Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan on March 26. At that time Congress state president and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot openly opposed one another.

Given the current state of Rajasthan Assembly, two seats are expected to be held at the Congress. The party will have to determine the names of its candidates in the next two days as the last date for nomination is March 13. However, from now on, the politics of compromise has begun in the state.

At present, many names are being discussed in Congress from Tariq Anwar to Rajiv Ardo and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh to Gaurav Vallabh. According to media reports, the party can send Tariq Anwar from Rajasthan to Rajya Sabha. Tariq Anwar has been elected to the Lok Sabha five times and twice to the Rajya Sabha. Another name comes up against Rajiv Aroda, though the pilot circle disagrees. The pilot has expressed his displeasure over the high command of Rajiv Aroda.

Rajasthan has a total of 10 Rajya Sabha seats, out of which nine BJP and one Congress currently hold. Congress sent former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from Rajya Sabha in August last year. The tenure of three BJP members Vijay Goel, Narayan Panchariya and Ramnarayan Doody ends on April 9. The Congress is sure to get two seats this time as the Congress gets stronger in the state assembly. BJP has not yet announced the name of its candidate.

Out of a total of 200 MLAs in the state assembly, Congress has 107 MLAs and BJP has 72 MLAs. Congress also has the support of 12 out of 13 independent MLAs in the state. Voting will be held on March 26 for three Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan.
