Increase in divorce cases at this point in the midst of a corona crisis

Divorce cases are on the rise in China amid the impact of the Corona virus. According to a Daily Mail report, China's Marriage Registry Office mentions that it is happening that couples are spending more time in the home because of the corona virus.

China has announced a lock-down in parts of the country to protect against the Corona virus infection. Millions of people had to be locked in the house for about a month. People were allowed out of the house only when there was an emergency or urgent task.

Lu Shijun, a marriage registry office official in Sichuan Province, China, said that since February 24, 300 couples have taken appointments for divorce.

Talking to the local media, Shijun said there were more cases of divorce. People are spending a lot of time at home. There is a fierce feud between the couple over the ordinary matter and they are later divorcing.

The marriage registration office in Shanxi Province also saw an increase in people taking appointments for divers. However, the office has also been closed for about a month.

In one office, there were 14 cases in a single day. In Fuzhou, the number of divorce appointments was reduced to 10 within a day after authorities received a large number of applications.
