Tensions between Shiv Sena and Pawar over Bhima Koregaon and Algar scandal

Mumbai, 17th February 2020, Monday

Tensions between the Shiv Sena and the Congress were reported on the issue of handing over Bhima Koregaon violence to the National Security Agency. The Congress is said to be unhappy with the Shiv Sena's stance on the issue of NPR.

Apart from Bhima Koregaon, Elgar scandal has also been investigated by the NIA, so the NCP is offended. Sharad Pawar convened a meeting of sixteen ministers in the state government today.

At a meeting in Kolhapur on Sunday, Pawar alleged that the state government was preparing to investigate both Bhima Koregaon and Elgar Kand, where the Central Government handed over the investigation to the NI and raided the state government.

Pawar said that the question of law and order remains with the state government. The central government should not intervene in this.

Uddhav Thackeray, on the other hand, also said that Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders were offended by the announcement that NPR would be implemented in Maharashtra state in May. The NCP and the Congress do not approve of the Shiv Sena being a wag of Hindutva.
