Shaheenbagh: People's struggle against people now after the shootings

New delhi date. February 2, 2020, Sunday

The protests have been taking place at Shahinbagh in Delhi for the last 50 days against the Citizenship Improvement Act (CAA). A young man opened fire on Saturday to remove this demonstrator from Shaheenbagh.

On the second day of the incident, now the local people had come out on the street in front of the protesters and they shouted 'Jai Sri Ram', 'Vandemataram'. Thus, people's struggle against the people started here as politics mixed with CAA appearances.

A group of pilgrims staged a protest on Sunday near the anti-CAA dam site in Shaheenbagh, Delhi, demanding to remove the road barriers connecting Noida to Kalindikunj. As a result, the status quo became very stressful as spectators and sectarians came face-to-face.

A large number of police forces were set up to control the situation. Police said the protesters had called for more than a month to protest against the Citizenship Improvement Act, asking people to vacate the route, because of their appearance, the local people face many difficulties.

Locals also resorted to court to move the protesters from Shaheenbagh. But the protesters did not shy away from the scene. Hence, on Sunday, a crowd of about 100 to 150 people reached Shaheenbagh and chanted slogans like 'Jai Sri Ram', 'Vandemataram' and 'Khali Karao Shaheenbagh'.

"We want the road to be cleared," said Rekha Devi, a local resident. Performers have been sitting on the patio for the past 50 days. Because of them, we face many problems. Our kids can't go to school, because the road is closed.

Police said that 52 people were detained on Sunday and they will be released shortly. A 25-year-old youth was arrested in Shaheenbagh on Saturday after shooting him in the air. No one was injured in the incident. Delhi court has sent the shooter Kapil Gujjar to police custody for two days. The appeal was presented to a more chief metropolitan magistrate.

On the other hand, in the south-east Delhi, the Election Commission has ousted DCP Chinmay Biswal and appointed Kumar Ghanshyam to his position. In Jamia Nagar and Shahinbagh, it was decided to remove Biswal from the post due to two incidents of shootings by the youths in two days.
