New Delhi, Feb 25, 2020, Tuesday
Seven people have been killed so far in the violence erupted in north-east Delhi since Monday, when Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a shocking statement saying that people are coming from outside for the cover of riots in Delhi.
He said after a meeting with party legislators and government officials that whatever violence was happening was not appropriate. Coordination between the fire brigade and the police is essential. It has been learned that the police are not allowed to take action at the following levels. Police should be given a loose rope to take action.
He said that a policeman was killed yesterday. What is happening today will be tomorrow, so peace is needed. Legislators from violence-hit areas say the police are poor and they are not allowed to prosecute.
Kejriwal said Delhi's borders need to be sealed. Because people are coming from outside. Peace appeals from temples and mosques and peace marches should be held in storm-affected areas.
