Railways Removed Illegal Software Travelers will now receive more immediate tickets

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. February 18, 2020, Tuesday

Railway passengers will now be able to get more tickets in an instant, with the removal of illegal software by the Railways and arresting agents besides 60 who blocked the tickets within minutes, an official said.

Arun Kumar, chief of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), said passersby could now get tickets from the immediate quota for hours after the removal of illegal bookings, which were booked by agents within minutes.

The officials clarified that the agents had to bypass the IRCTC's login using illegal software like ANMS, MAC jagur to get tickets and the actual passenger had to go through several processes while booking with bank OTP. Normally 2.55 minutes for a passenger to book a ticket, but with illegal software, agents could get hundreds of tickets in just 1.48 minutes.

Railways do not allow agents to book tickets immediately, and in the last two months, the RPF arrested 60 such agents who obtained helicopter tickets using illegal software.

"To date, I can say that not a single ticket has been booked using illegal software. We have resolved all issues. Besides, most agents who used such software were arrested, 'said RPF DG Kumar.

He cited that the tickets were booked in just two minutes on October 26, 2019 for Magadh Express, but the illegal software was booked for nine hours on the 10th of February, 2020.
