Modi-Trump debate discusses only Kashmir issue: Shrongla

During the talks in Delhi between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there was no discussion on the Citizenship Improvement Act (CAA). Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shrongala said the two leaders had positive talks on religious harmony.

The Foreign Secretary said there were talks between Modi and Trump on five issues, including security, security, energy, technology and communication at the public-level level of the two countries.

Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shrongla said that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir had been raised during discussions between the Presidents of the two countries. We have said that there is positive development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Asked whether the CAA issue was discussed in the Modi and Trump talks, the Foreign Secretary said there was no dialogue on the CAA issue. The two sides praised pluralism, diversity as the cause that connects India and America.

On the Kashmir issue, Shrungla said that during the Trump-Modi talks, the Jammu and Kashmir debate was focused on positive developments in the region. We said the situation was moving in the right direction. Recently, two groups of ambassadors arrived to check the status of Jammu and Kashmir, including Ambassador to India and US Kenneth Juster.

The Foreign Secretary added that six Indian parties had raised the issue of H1B visas by showing the contribution of Indian professionals in the IT sector. Energy bilateral cooperation emerged as one of the most important areas in these negotiations. Trump has assured India of a high position in defense, procurement, technology, joint alliances.
