Meet for the second consecutive day on NPA-NRC issue in Bihar assembly

Patna, Ta. February 25, 2020, Tuesday

On the second day of the Bihar Assembly Budget session, the ruling party and opposition lawmakers on Tuesday made a big splash. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the National Population Register (NPR) as the assembly proceedings began. The proposal was then passed against the NRC in the Bihar assembly.

Bright Yadav termed the National Citizen Register (NRC) and NPR the law of breaking the country. His statement was overruled by the MLAs of the ruling party.

Subsequently, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a statement in Parliament and clarified from the government. In the Legislative Assembly, Nitish Kumar said that despite the statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the NRC, the issue was being raised frequently.

The Chief Minister further said that he wrote a letter to the central government demanding removal of some controversial details of NPR. We have demanded in this letter that the NPR be kept the same as 2010. It is worth mentioning that issues like NPR and NRC in Bihar Legislative Assembly are going on from Monday.

Yesterday, party lawmakers said the opposition was trying to defame the country's constitution. Which will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Meanwhile, Shri Yadav told reporters that while the central government has issued NPR notification, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar talks about implementing NPR in the form of 2010.
