Last year 7720 Indian nationals were infiltrated in the United States

In 2019, officials arrested 7720 Indian-origin citizens trying to enter the United States. It also included 272 women and 591 children. Last year, 8,51,508 foreign nationals were arrested in an attempt to infiltrate the United States.

The North American Punjabi Association received information from the government under the Right to Information Act. Accordingly, 8,51,508 foreign nationals were tried in the US last year for intrusion.

7720 of them were of Indian origin. In the border of the United States, customs officials arrested 7720 Indian-origin citizens, including 272 women and 591 children, in 2019. Reportedly, the intrusion attempt was up 115 percent. In 2017, 4620 Indian citizens were caught trying to infiltrate.

In a similar attempt in 2016, 3544 Indians were arrested by officers. In 2015, a total of 3019 Indian-origin citizens were arrested during the intrusion attempt. In 2014, 1663 Indian nationals were arrested for intruding.

Satnam Singh of the North American Punjabi Association said that the infiltration rate among young men and women has increased alarmingly. He advised Indian-origin teenagers not to try to enter the country illegally in this way.
