For the benefit of the public and for the safety of the food, it was decided that the packet of loose or non-packaged sweets, dishes or containers should be labeled 'production date' and 'best to use before this date', the FSSAI order said. Was.

The order will go into effect from June 1, 2020, the authority said. The vendors of the foodstuff should decide on this and will have to label 'best to use before this date' depending on the local circumstances and the type of product. The Food Safety Commissioners of the states were asked to see that the order be implemented strictly.
