India lost by 4 wickets in the first ODI played at Hamilton

India lost 4 wickets in the first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. With this, New Zealand have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. New Zealand have started with a win in the one-day series after losing five T20 series. Team India, who lost the toss and batted first, lost 344 for 4 in 50 overs and gave New Zealand a 348-run target for the win.

For India, Shreyas Iyer scored the first century of his one-day career, Shreyas Iyer played 103 off 107 balls. The CYL Rahul played 88 runs off 64 balls, captain Virat Kohli scored 51, New Zealand lost the target in 6.1 overs in 48.1 overs. Ross Taylor from New Zealand notched an unbeaten 109 off 84 balls.

Apart from Taylor, Henry Nicholson contributed 78, Captain Tom Lotham 69 and Martin Puptill contributed 32. Kuldeep Yadav 2 from India and Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Shami took one wicket each. New Zealand achieved the target of 348 against India. New Zealand has made its biggest target chase in One-Day International.
