HDIL promoters withdraw bail application from Supreme

HDIL promoters Rakesh Wadhwan and Sarang Wadhwa have withdrawn their bail pleas from the Supreme Court in connection with the multi-crore Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative (PMC) bank scam.

A bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde did not agree with the plea of ​​Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared on behalf of Wadhwan, in which he said that since the Supreme Court adjourned the case, the local court was not considering his bail application.

In addition to Chief Justice ASA Bobde, a bench comprising Justice BR Gawai and Justice Surya Kant told Wadhwan's lawyers that where is the order of the Family Court stating that they will not hear the bail application.

Rohtagi told the bench that the Bombay High Court had ordered the accused to shift from Arthur Road jail to his home in Mumbai but the Supreme Court had stayed on him and now the Supreme Court is not ready to hear his bail plea. However, the bench of the Supreme Court decided to withdraw the bail plea of ​​promoters of HDIL promoters who were not in jail.
