Exports fell 1.66 percent in January to $ 25.97 billion

The country's exports declined for the sixth consecutive month. Exports fell 1.66 percent to $ 25.97 billion in January, according to data released by the Commerce Ministry. Imports also declined by 0,75 percent to $ 41.14 billion in January. That led to a trade deficit of $ 15.17 billion in January.

The trade deficit in January 2019 was $ 15.05 billion. During April-January, 2020, exports declined 1.93 percent to $ 265.26 billion. Exports fell 8.12 percent to $ 398.53 billion. Trade deficit during the period stood at $ 133.27 billion.
