Crop. FATF pressure to reduce terrorist incidents in Kashmir: General Narwane


New delhi date. February 20, 2020, Thursday

A meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an organization that monitors the funding of terrorists around the world, was held in Paris. It is recommended to keep Pakistan within the gray list. Then after the FATF meeting, Indian Army President Manoj Mukund Narwane said that Pakistan would have to remove the gap between his speech and his actions.

The pressure of the FATF is growing on it, it is Pakistan's good to improve. At the same time, the president said that the FATF pressure on Pakistan has also reduced the terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley.

The army chief further said that after the FATF action against Pakistan in Paris, China also realized that he could not defend Pakistan as a friend at all times.

If the FATF continues to act so harshly on Pakistan, it will have to re-think its tax evaders. Apart from this, he said that Indian Army personnel were able to stop the Pakistani bat team's plan.

In the past, many such infiltration attempts have been foiled by the Indian Army. At present, terror incidents in the Kashmir Valley near the border and in the Kashmir Valley have declined, he said, adding that the FATF is taking action on Pakistan.

He further claimed that at present 15 to 20 terrorist camps are active inside the POK. There are also 250 to 300 terrorists inside. He said this is only an estimate, the number of terrorists may be even higher.

On the Supreme Court's directive to give women a permanent commission in the army, he said the decision was welcome. The army does not discriminate against anyone. Women officers are currently being asked to write letters. The army gives everyone equal opportunity to contribute and progress for the country. The Indian Army has initiated recruitment of women at every level.
