Congress will hold a rally on February 16 against the anti-BJP reserve policy

New Delhi, 11 Feb 2020, Tuesday

The Congress party will hold a nationwide rally and agitation on February 16 to expose the anti-reservation policy of BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Speaking to the media on Monday, Congress general secretary KC Venu Gopal informed about the agitation during a conversation with the media.

On February 7, the Supreme Court held that claiming reservation for promotion is not a fundamental right. So now Congress will propagate that BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak. The union wants to destroy the reserves. The Supreme Court also said that no court can order the state governments to reserve SC-ST.

Venugopal told all the state units of Congress to take a back seat to make the 16th movement successful and said that for the past few years, BJP and RSS have been campaigning against the reserves and now the central government has tried to fulfill its purpose by tearing down the Supreme Court. We have decided to launch a nationwide movement on February 16 to bring the BJP government's inauguration to the people. All state units together with the SC-ST and OBC branches should hold public meetings in their respective states.

In the Lok Sabha, Congress impatient Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue and said that the post-independence Congress government gave SC-ST and OBC rights to reserve hundreds of years of old discrimination. Why is the BJP trying to pull it off? In response to the allegation, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had stated in clear words that the decision was not from the government but the Supreme Court. The government has nothing to do with this.
