Congress leader including Sonia Gandhi meets president, remove Amit Shah as Home Minister

New Delhi, Feb 27, 2020 Thursday

Leaders including Congress president Sonia Gandhi met President Ram Nath Kovind on the Delhi violence.

Sonia Gandhi filed a letter to the President demanding that Amit Shah be removed as Home Minister. Sonia Gandhi said that the central government did nothing to stop the violence. Hopefully, the President will take appropriate action. Delhi violence has become a cause of great concern and disgrace for the country.

Former PM Manmohan Singh along with Sonia Gandhi had also arrived. He called Delhi violence a major failure of the government. The delegation of Congress leaders included Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram, Mallikarjun Khadge, Ahmed Patel.

Sonia Gandhi said that violence cost millions of rupees. They have been robbed, stoned and murdered. The police and the Home Minister have failed to stop the violence. Hopefully, the President will take action. We have sought to protect the lives, liberty and wealth of the people.
