Asian Wrestling: India finished third, winning a total of 20 medals with five gold

In domestic wrestling, India won third place in the medal table by winning five medals with five gold, six silver and two bronze. This is the best performance in the history of this Asian Wrestling Championship in India. Japan was the first to win 3 medals with 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. Iran finished second with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.

India received three more medals on the final day of the Asian Wrestling Championships played at New Delhi's KD Jadhav Stadium. Jitendra Kumar made the trip to the finals in the 5kg freestyle wrestling category. In the final, however, he lost to Kazakhstan's Dania Kisanov. Nevertheless, he won the Silver and was on the World Championship team.

Deepak Poonia was satisfied with the bronze medal in the 8 kg weight class event. While Rahul Awar managed to win a bronze medal in the 8 kg weight class event. India had won only 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze in last year's Asian Championship. This time, India won the best gold in history by winning 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. Although India has excelled in winning the Overall Medal, India's dominance in freestyle wrestling has not been seen before.
