Why January 26th was chosen for Republic Day?

Even before the Constitution of India was enacted on Saturday, the 7th was important. At midnight on December 5, the Indian National Congress in Lahore convened a meeting chaired by Jawaharlal Nehru in Lahore. On the day the British did not take any steps for the independence of the country A wave of national sovereignty was echoed in the country. With the demand for full sovereignty, a wave of nationalism arose in the country. January was celebrated as Purna Swaraj Day ie Independence Day.


The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly of India was held on December 3, 8. On 8th August, the country got independence but the country did not have its own constitution. Therefore, the constitution of the country was drafted by Gandhi Ambedkar under the leadership of BR Ambedkar for three years and three days. The constitution was submitted by the Constitution Committee for implementation on November 7. It was signed by all MPs and legislators on January 3. Later, the Constitution was implemented in the country on January 7 .Do Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India. Thus in view of the historical importance of January 7th, 7th was again chosen as Republic Day of the country.
