Two were seized from Kolkata with 25 kg of heroin worth Rs.105 crore

Kolkata police today arrested two killers with 25kg of heroin worth Rs 105 crore in the international market in the largest drug trafficking ever seized in the eastern states.

Based on the information received by the police, the Special Task Force of Kolkata Police raided an house in Pakapara, in the northern part of Shehar, early this morning and seized Uttar Pradesh drug khapia Zuber and his accomplice Maulana Fayazuddin of Manipur, a police official said.

'We caught 25.255kg of heroin. The catch was not only in Kolkata but in West Bengal and the whole of the North Eastern States, "he said. A preliminary investigation revealed that Zubair worked as a faria in the city while Fayazuddin was a farm laborer.

Both were reportedly the only khapis who worked for the Mafia and drug dealers in Uttar Pradesh. Zuber had 20kg of heroin and Fayazuddin had 5.255kg of heroin. 'We suspect that the defendants' intention is to mix heroin with another drug.

He was in the process of selling these goods to small dealers in Shehar, "he said. The two accused were booked under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotrophic Substances Act, 29185. Further investigation into the case is underway, 'the official added.
