Thick fog, visibility diminished trains all over North India

New Delhi, 22 Jan 2020, Wednesday

The deadly cold on the one hand and the fog on the other, resulted in a number of trains lagging for hours across North India and forced to change flight schedules.

In some areas, the visibility was only ten meters away, resulting in serious traffic impacts on the road. Heavy snowfall in the mountainous areas resulted in the mercury falling below freezing and people were forced to stay at home if there was no compulsory work. In some areas, schools were today discharged.

Life was greatly affected. Visibility at Indira Gandhi Airport in Capital New Delhi was delayed due to some flights being delayed and some canceled. The pilots of some flights coming to Delhi had to be sent to other nearby states to refuse to take the risk of landing a flight due to low visibility.

Most of the trains coming to Delhi were late for one to eight hours. Railways officially announced that trains were running late due to the fog.
