There was talk of separation of Assam by coming in ashes: Shargil Imam

New Delhi, Jan 30, 2020, Thursday

Sharjeel Imam, a JNU alumnus who was arrested for sedition, had confessed to the Delhi Police inquiry that after coming to a standstill, I had told Assam to leave the country.

He also confessed that the video clip is mine, with no tampering. I made this statement at Aligarh Muslim University. During my one-hour lecture, I was enraged and said that the northeastern states should be sacked.

On January 25, Fulwari traveled to Sharjeel to deliver a speech in the ongoing anti-CAA demonstrations in Sharif. He was informed that an FIR had been lodged against him and stopped near his ancestral home in Kako area of Jehanabad district of Bihar.

However, officers of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police also arrived in Bihar on January 25 in search of them, and with the help of Bihar police, Sharjeel was taken to Kako. An FIR was registered against it in at least five to six states. After speeding it up in Coca, he was produced before the District Magistrate.

He was brought to New Delhi from Patna on Wednesday morning and was questioned by the Delhi Police authorities. In the meantime, he admitted his error.

Police said that it was hidden in Imamwada that it became fresh in Kako. It was difficult to get him to go to Imamwada, so the police called him out with the help of his friends and as it turned out, he took them immediately.
