The Supreme Court on Monday said that Vijay Mallya could not ask for a stay on the bankruptcy proceedings initiated against him in other jurisdictions, using the pending court petition.
The Center had notified the Supreme Court that Mallya had used her pending petition to prevent her from appearing in the bankruptcy proceedings in a UK court. Subsequently, a batch chaired by Chief Justice S. Bobde passed the order.
Mallya on June 27 urged the main court to block his and her relatives' belongings. Mallya is currently in Britain. Extradition proceedings are also underway in Britain against Mallya.
