PM Modi on a two-day visit to Karnataka from today

Bangalore, Ta. 2 January 2020, Thursday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Karnataka state today. During the visit, it was learned that the Prime Minister is likely to announce an economic package for the farmers.

The Prime Minister announced the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. Under this announcement, six crore farmers in the country were to get Rs 12,000 crore. However, since the farmers of West Bengal are not involved with the scheme, all the farmers in the country will get the benefit except this.

A spokesman for the Center for Agriculture and Kisan Welfare Ministry said that today the Prime Minister will transfer the money to the farmers' bank account. It should be noted here that the December installment amount of this fund has not yet been received by the farmers. A spokesman for the ministry said that the amount would be released today.

More than 70 lakh farmers of Bengal will be deprived of this benefit. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was opposed to the Prime Minister's scheme as against other schemes of the Center, so her state's farmers did not join the scheme. Mamata has already been opposed to the scheme. He fears that implementing the scheme in his own state will increase the BJP's strength and hurt his grassroots Congress party in the assembly elections.

Thus, the victims of the conflict between the Center and the state will become farmers.
