Mobile Internet started in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 25, 2020: Saturday

Internet service was resumed on Saturday, January 25 in Jammu and Kashmir's Twenty Twenty districts.

G-to-Internet service was booming today on both prepaid and postpaid mobiles. However, for now, the service will continue till January 31. Then the government will consider the issue again.

Article 370, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was shut down by the Central Government last year since the Internet service in Jammu and Kashmir was closed. A public interest petition was filed in the Supreme Court on this issue, and the Supreme Court told the Center that the Internet service is a fundamental right of the people, and that the service could not be stopped permanently.

The announcement was made by Shalin Cabra, Principal Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department, and said that the facility will continue till January 31, from today to January 31, besides mobile phones. Then this issue will be reconsidered once again.

Simultaneously, it was instructed that strict legal action would be taken against those who misuse the Internet.
