A meeting was held at the house of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday to determine the candidates for the Delhi assembly elections, which were reported to have lasted till three o'clock even after midnight.

The Delhi Assembly has a total of 70 seats. It was also learned that the names of BJP candidates for 45 seats were decided in Sunday's meeting.

The meeting began at eight o'clock at night and lasted seven hours. After the recent Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections, the BJP and especially Amit Shah is said to have become more alert. There was also discussion on the issue of holding an election agreement with Dushant Chautala of Haryana and Akali Dal of Punjab in the Delhi assembly elections.

A total of 1400 candidates were shortlisted for the 70 assembly seats in the Delhi assembly. There is still no denying the possibility of a new replacement.

Other parties had also begun to prepare themselves.
