The beginning of the new year has proved a good one for the BJP. CAA on the one hand and NRC on the other hand have increased the party's difficulty. Even the defeat of Jharkhand has caused a big blow to the party. There is talk of snatching another state out of BJP's hands.
Leader of the opposition in the Assam assembly, Debabrat Saikia, has introduced Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to quit BJP and form a new government with the support of his party.
The Congress has once again been active in the North Eastern States. In this link, senior Congress leader Saikia said the new government would be anti-citizenship law and anti-BJP.
Congress will help create a new government
After the CAA list was issued, Assam Congress leader Debabrat Saikia said that if Sonoval leaves the BJP with his MLA, his party will help Sonowal in forming a government. He will also be the CM in the new government.
Congress has given this formula
Saikia said Assam's current position indicates that Sonowal should quit the BJP. He should come out of the government along with his 30 MLAs as independents. In Assam, the BJP will support them for forming an anti-government and they will be made CM again.
