Budget session begins today: Anti-CAA demonstration outside Parliament House led by Sonia Gandhi

Opponents of the country staged a protest outside the Parliament House on Friday morning against the new Citizenship Act (CAA). These demonstrations were led by Congress' Sonia Gandhi.

Starting today, the budget session of Parliament is starting. President Ram Nath Kovind is to address both houses of parliament today. At that time, the opposition staged demonstrations outside Parliament House.

Opposition stood in front of Gandhi's statue with banners and plates in the Parliament House building. On these plates there were texts like Save Democracy and Eliminate Black Law.

The budget session of Parliament, which starts today, will run till April 3rd. The budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 will be presented tomorrow, February 1st. The opposition was thanking the government for its issues like economic downturn, unemployment, CAA and NRC.

President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive at Parliament House at 10.55 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will accompany him. The President will begin addressing Parliament at 11 o'clock. There will be a half-hour break after his speech.
