Attack on Modi government's student: Sonia Gandhi engaged in JNU controversy

New Delhi, 06.06 January 2020 Monday

Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, tried to surround the Modi government in the wake of the violence that was unleashed by attackers on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru University in the country's capital, Delhi.

Sonia Gandhi took the government's stand and said that the voice of youth and students is being pressed and mocked in the country today. Violence is being encouraged by gangsters in the country under the rule of Modi government. The attack on students and faculty at JNU tomorrow will be remembered by the government for suppressing the voice of dissent.

Students from across the country organized today to protest against the violence of JNU

In the wake of the violence in JNU this morning, some university students' unions, including Delhi University, were once again united and expressed their support to JNU's student union. They were announced today as peaceful demonstrations. While the students of JNU alleged that the violent attack was carried out by the All India Student Council, the Students' Council (ABVPA) alleged that the attack was carried out by the Left unions.

The attack was pre-planned: Delhi Police

Acknowledging that the attack was pre-planned, Delhi Police launched an inquiry into the identity of the attackers on the basis of CCTV and after questioning the eyewitnesses of the incident. Thus, the movement for the last two and a half months has been on the issue of additional fees in JNU. On Saturday, some students forcibly entered the information center and locked the server and locked the server room.

This led to a brawl and a minor dispute between the JNU and ABVP representatives. On Sunday, a student of JNU held a rally from the Sabarmati hostel. During this time there was a violent attack.
