Nine killed in hurricanes in Spain, Portugal and France

Nine people were killed and three heavy rains flooded rivers in three European countries, France, Spain and Portugal, authorities said. The Elsa and Fabian hurricanes caused heavy rains in all three countries and caused rivers to flood.

Electricity was lost in the area due to the storm, trees were uprooted and rail and air services were lost. According to one estimate, the power supply was shut down in 118,000 loans. Seven people were killed in Spain while two were most affected in Portugal.

A fisherman standing on a hill in the Catalonia Sea was pulled into the water. Local authorities said three policemen and another fisherman were rescued in an attempt to rescue a man at St Felui de Gu resort town, one hundred km northeast of Barcelona from here.

Among those killed in Spain was a South Korean woman who was buried in a building debris in Madrid. In addition, a Dutch citizen was surfing in bad waters along the Andalusian coast.

On Saturday, the Elsa hurricane on Saturday overtook the Fabian hurricane that hit Britain, causing 170km of wind. According to Spanish airport authorities, they were forced to cancel 14 flights due to hurricanes.
