Joseph Stalin dislikes Gandhi and Nehru

New Delhi, December 18, 2019, Wednesday

When India became independent in 1947, the ruler of the Soviet Union was Joseph Stalin. At that time Stalin neither had a good opinion of India nor did he like Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi. He thought that both Nehru and Gandhi worked for the benefit of imperialist Britain.

At that time, Stalin felt that India's independence was an excuse that the colonial powers had made to leave India. He thought that the rule of only the landlords and kings was prevalent in India and that these people exploited the poor there. Although his opinion was that Britain had liberated India, its army would never be removed from here. It was mentioned in a book that Stalin thought Nehru was really a British spy.

After India's independence, Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to build better relations with the Soviet Union, but Stalin had no interest. Nehru was pleased to meet him but Stalin did not respond positively to him. Once Nehru was about to go on a UK tour. Before that he wanted to go to Moscow for two days but canceled his program because he did not know whether he would be welcomed into the Soviet Union. This falsehood remained in Stalin's mind about Nehru and Gandhi for a long time.

When Vijay sent Lakshmi Pandit as its first ambassador to the Soviet Union, Stalin did not give him time to meet Nehru's sister, Mrs Pandit's repeated efforts. His tenure as ambassador was a disappointment. Radhakrishnan was subsequently sent as ambassador to Moscow. As someone who has done magic on Stalin, he had time to meet twice. In which he eliminated Stalin's perception of India to a great extent. At the same time the first ambassador to the Soviet Union was sent to Delhi. Vasilyevich Novakov also revised his view of Nehru.

Stalin was born on December 18, 1879 in Gorey, Georgia. Stalin's father was a businessman. Mother was doing laundry. As a kid, Stalin was very weak. The other kids were teasing him a lot. Her father was an alcoholic and often beat Stalin. In 1899 he was expelled from a religious school.

In 1917, under the leadership of Lenin, the Communist revolution in Russia was successful. Stalin was then given a prominent position in the party. After Lenin's death in 1924, Stalin became the ruler of Russia. By the end of the 1920s, Stalin became the dictator of the Soviet Union. However, Stalin often met those who opposed him, whether it was the army or the Communist Party.

In 1919, Joseph Stalin was married to Nadezhda Eliliueva for the second time. By this marriage, Stalin had one daughter Svetlana and one son Vasily. His second wife, Nadezhda, committed suicide in 1932. However, it was officially stated that he died of illness. After his daughter learned of the cause of his mother's death, hatred for the father was in his mind. In the meantime, he fell in love with the Jewish writer Alexi Kapler. He was older than his age. He was arrested and subsequently removed all illusions from his mind. Sullivan met Bridges Singh, an Indian leader in Moscow in 1963 after two unsuccessful marriages and decided to remarry. But the Soviet Union government did not allow it.

Stalin became very skeptical in his last days. He began to view many in the party as his enemy. Stalin died of a heart attack on March 5, 1953. Many people in the Soviet Union mourned his death. He was called a great leader who took the country to new heights.
