If you want to live in India then you have to speak Bharat Mata Ki Jai: Minister of Dharmendra

Pune, Ta. December 29, 2019, Sunday

Blaming the protesters for the outbreak of violence across the country in opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act and the proposed NRC, Union Minister of Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan said that 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' would have to be said if he was to stay in India. His statement has created controversy.

Addressing the three-day annual 54th conference of the All India Student Council (ABVP) in Pune, Maharashtra, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said, "Do we want to make our country a hospice where no one can penetrate without rock-talk?" So we have to accept that challenge and make sure that only those people who are ready to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' can stay here.

The Minister for Dharmendra also criticized protesters opposing the Citizenship Improvement Act (CAA) and the proposed NRC. He said, will Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh's sacrifice be useless?

Do countless people fight for independence so that after 70 years the country will consider the issue whether citizens are counted or not? I ask people watching, is there a country in the world that does not count its citizens? There is no other country in the world.

He blamed the protesters for the anti-citizenship laws and the violence that broke out during the NRC protests and said that the responsibility of institutions like ABVP is increased when the citizens of the country come to violence in the name of citizenship. Only nationalist groups can work to expose people who have been misled.
