Fastag implementation started today: Vehicle movement at Toll Plaza will be easy

With the objective of reducing the long queue of vehicles at the toll plaza, as well as being able to collect the toll tax easily, the implementation of the fastag system by the Government of India will start from tomorrow. The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The government had decided to implement the mandatory fastag from December 1, but then increased it to December 15. The National Electronic Toll Collection is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways that will be implemented across the country.

The government's purpose behind this is to reduce the long queues seen at the toll plaza. This will ease vehicular traffic and reduce toll through radio frequency identification technology. Central Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the launch of Fastag from December 15.

Besides, if all vehicles, whether private or public, have to go on the highway, Fastag will have to be compulsory. Those who do not have Fastag will have to pay double tax at every toll plaza. Take off and make travel easier.
