Citizens bill protests in eastern states, life-threatening: child death

On the issue of the Citizenship Reform Bill, heavy rains remained unchanged for the second consecutive day from Assam to Bengal. The Citizenship Reform Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. However, opposition to the bill has continued in eastern states, including Assam.

Left-leaning student unions announced a 12-hour shutdown on Tuesday morning from 5.00pm to 5.00pm. The protesters clashed with security forces at several places during the shutdown. Due to stressful situation in Tripura, up to 48 hours of internet and SMS service have been shut down.

A two-month-old infant died at Guwahati on the way to the hospital after protesters blocked roads. The protesters burned the idols of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Native residents of the eastern states say their identity and livelihoods are at risk from those who come from abroad. Asu and other left-wing organizations have been protesting against the bill for the past few days.

Student union activists also stormed the streets of Sivasagar on Sunday evening. However, the police detained the perpetrators. On the other side, posters were installed at various sites against three ministers of the Assam assembly in Nalbari.

However, in the Barak Valley area dominated by the Bengalis, the dam had no special effect. However, due to the closure in Guwahati and Dibrugarh, the colleges were forced to cancel the exams. A government bus was stoned in Maligaon area of ​​Guwahati and a scooter was set on fire, sources said.

Official sources said shops, markets and industrial and educational institutions were closed in most areas following the call of the dam. Large demonstrations were held in different parts of the city. The protestors chanted slogans against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019.

He struggled with security forces trying to enter the secretariat and assembly building in Guwahati. However, there is no unpleasant incident in today's movement. In view of the closure, universities today canceled the exams.

On the other side, artists from the Assam film industry staged demonstrations in the Chandmari area. Students from Guwahati University and Cotton University in Guwahati as well as Assam Agricultural University in Jorhat came out on the road, chanting slogans for withdrawal of citizenship bills.

Apart from Assam, Tripura is also protesting against the bill. Several tribal groups, including the BJP's associate Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), announced a ban against the Citizenship Reform Bill. Due to the dam, road and rail traffic in the northeastern states were lost and thousands of tourists were hit in the middle.

In Delhi, political parties, student unions and civil society groups staged protests against the Citizenship Reform Bill. The Communist Party staged a protest near the statue of Gandhiji in the Parliament premises.
