Violent protests started in the eastern states on the issue of Citizenship Improvement Act (CAA) reached the capital city of Delhi on Sunday through West Bengal. Several days of protests in Delhi caught violent form on Sunday.

The protesters wreaked havoc in the New Friends Colony in South Delhi. Burned 3 buses and some motorcycles. Meanwhile, violent protests continued unabated in the eastern states, including West Bengal and Assam. Students at Jamia Millia University in Delhi have been protesting the citizenship reform law for the past few days.

A large number of protesters marched from Jamianagar to Okhla on Sunday. It is said that the students of Jamia Millia University were also among the protestors. In the meantime he had a confrontation with the police, after which the protesters became furious and he burned three buses.

The firefighting team immediately dispatched four lights, but the protesters sustained heavy damage to a vehicle, which also injured two firefighting personnel. National secretary of Congress student association NSUI, Simon Farooqi, said that when protesters were protesting peacefully on Mathura Road, the police started harassing them. Police also released teargas shells on the protesters.

The protesters set fire to the buses and started vandalizing following police raids. Violent sightings also affected the metro service along the road. Delhi Metro closed entry and exit gates at Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Jasola Vihal Shahin Bagh metro stations following the advice of Delhi Police.

AAP and BJP face similar allegations for violent protests in Delhi on Sunday. BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari and Kapil Mishra have accused AAP leader Amanullah of inciting violence.

In response, Amanatullah made it clear that he was not involved in these appearances. He said he was in another program in Jamia area at the time of the violence. You claimed that the BJP was violently making peaceful appearances on suspicion of defeat in Delhi.

Ever since the government introduced the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Parliament, demonstrations had started in the eastern states including Assam, which later turned violent. In Assam, West Bengal along with Tripura, Meghalaya became violent in the last few days.

Violent protests continued for the third consecutive day in West Bengal. As such, the state government banned Internet services in six districts. Sources said that despite repeated appeals from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, some communal elements were protesting violently and trying to make the atmosphere in the state tense.

Meanwhile, while PM Modi was on his way to Jharkhand, Jharkhand, a BJP delegation met him at Andal Airport in West Bardwan district and informed about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. On the other side, the Railways said that after the Friday and Saturday violence, the Railway Department had to pay Rs. 12.75 crore has been damaged. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress held a peaceful rally in different parts of the state to protest the citizenship bill.

Police went to Jamia Millia University's premises to investigate the outbreak of violence in South Delhi during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and closed the university's doors to expedite 'outsiders', sources said.

However, the university's student unions and teachers' associations alienated them from the violence. Some students claimed that the police had entered the university library and 'harassed' the students. Jamia University also directed internal investigation into the incident.
