Central government should release new citizenship law: Mayawati

New delhi date. December 21, 2019, Saturday

Mayawati, the BSP president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, said that the central government should keep its insistence on the issue of new citizenship law.

He said that protests were taking place in most states of the country and blood of innocent civilians was pouring out. The country's public assets are being harmed repeatedly. In view of all these things, the central government should lay down its insistence.

Mayawati said that in fact the central government should try to address the problems of the people by giving importance to such issues as rising inflation, rising unemployment and economic crisis.

He appealed to those opposing the new citizenship idea that it would be better for you to have peaceful demonstrations. Violence and arson are thus damaging the country's wealth. This loss belongs to all of us.

It should be recalled here that a delegation of BSPA met President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday and urged the President to halt the implementation of the new citizenship law by opposing the police action against the students of Jamia Millia Islamia.
