Ayodhya, November 17, 2019, Sunday

The security system in Ayodhya has been further intensified on the occasion of its anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6. The incident took place on December 6, 1992, and after the verdict, the issue has become more sensitive.

Anuj Jha, district officer of Ayodhya, said that the security of Ram Janmabhoomi in the Red Zone with high security has been increased and other historic monuments around it have also been covered.

He further said that he maintained strict security in the city and other areas of the district till the judgment of the case was reached and that the security arrangements would be kept intensive till the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition (December 6).

According to the district official, peace and harmony is the main challenge on December 6 but he is confident that the peaceful people of Ayodhya will maintain maturity. Currently Ayodhya's security system has been divided into four parts. The disputed 2.77 acres of land has been divided into red zones, yellow zones to the city, green zones to the entire district and blue zones to the area around the district.

Section 144, which was implemented in the area on October 8 last, will remain in force till December 28 so that peace can be maintained. Currently, 45 CCTV cameras have been set up at major religious places including Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhavan, Dashrath Mahal to prevent any misconduct immediately.

In addition, police officers are also keeping an eye on the provocative statements posted on social media. On December 6, 1992, a mob of caravans demolished the historic Babri Masjid built by Mughal emperor Babar in 1528, leading to communal riots across the country.
