Ram-Rahim's colleague Honey Prit-others was charged with sedition

The charges of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, his adopted daughter Honeypreet and 35 accused accused Desh Dwoh were dropped in the court here in the violence case in Panchkula in 2017.

However, allegations were made under various sections of the IPC for the violence that erupted after the sentence in the rape case was handed over to Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Sandhir. More than 30 people were killed and 200 more were injured in the violence in Panchkula.

"The court revoked the clauses of section 121 (war against the state government) and 121A (for conspiring to commit a crime punishable under section 121)," defense lawyer Suresh Rohilla said.

He further said that all the cases were filed against various accused, including HoneyPreet, under various sections related to criminal conspiracy and illegal association. Honey Preet and Sukhwinder Kaur were present in court through video conference while Ambala was brought to court.

Police have charged Hani Preet and followers of Dera Sacha Sodha with treason under various sections for murder in Panchkula. In August 2017, Dera chief Ram Rahim was convicted in rape case and police filed a case against Honey Preet and others.

An FIR was registered against Honeypreet and others for inciting violence in Panchkula after the punishment of Ram Rahim. According to the chargesheet, the conspiracy to incite violence was enacted by Honey Prit and 45 members of the Derai managing committee.
