Internet service in Aligarh has been shut down

While the Supreme Court is to announce the verdict of the Ayodhya dispute today, the internet service was shut down to prevent spreading rumors in Aligarh, the most sensitive state in Uttar Pradesh.

State Director General of Police OP Singh said that we have prepared to shut down the internet in other districts if needed. Those whose posts will be prone to provocation or rumor in sensitive areas will be closely monitored.

Police have placed as many as seven hundred anti-social elements. Police are looking at all the districts that are considered sensitive. Article 144 was implemented throughout the state.

Police also kept a close eye on the stormy factors. The police chief said that it was the state government's responsibility to maintain law and order at any cost.
