Bulbul hurricanes wreak havoc in West Bengal: 10 killed, 300,000 affected families

Bulbul hurricanes wreaked havoc in West Bengal even before Sunday night wreaked havoc in West Bengal. In West Bengal, ten people were killed and about three lakh families were reported to be adversely affected.

Today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will conduct aerial inspection of areas affected by the storm. On Sunday morning, it was raining with heavy storms and several trees in the north and south 24 parganas besides Kolkata city were originally eroded. Life was lost in the East Midnapur area when electricity was broken due to power outages.

Minister of West Bengal Disaster Prevention Department Javed Khan said that 2473 houses were seriously damaged in the coastal areas of the state and another 26 thousand houses were partially damaged.

Heavy damage was reported especially in Bakkhali and Nam Khana areas associated with fishing. On Monday, Mamata Banerjee was scheduled to visit the northern part of the state.

By canceling this, Mamata will now visit the hurricane areas. He also spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone and assured the Prime Minister to help him as much as possible.
