New Delhi, Oct 22, 2019, Tuesday

Senior party leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is involved in the crisis-hit leaders of the Congress, is offended by the party's high command. The cause of the outrage is a tweet from Singhvi, in which he praised Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, one of the BJP's heroes.

Singhvi tweeted when voting was taking place in Maharashtra and Haryana. Congress president Sonia Gandhi is angry with Singhvi about the timing and essence of the tweet. He asked one of his confidants to call and explain the tweet.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi's tweet came in a number of messages and created disturbances in the Congress front when the by-elections were underway in Maharashtra and Haryana, as well as 51 assembly seats in 18 states.

Soon after the exit poll claimed the BJP government with a bumper majority in both the states, the discussion of this tweet at the Congress camps got louder.

Congress leader Singhvi praised Savarkar in a tweet and wrote, 'I do not personally support Savarkar's ideology, but do not deny the fact that he was a perfect man who participated in our freedom struggle. Savarkar fought for Dalit officials and went to jail for the country.

As evening fell, pressure was put on Singhvi and he went on TV channels to explain what he meant by finally telling Savarkar. However, the matter was seen as a control of the dummies from Singhvi.

According to party sources, Singhvi went to the phone of a senior Congress leader and questioned him about tweeting and his timing. According to the report, Singhvi's call was made at the behest of Sonia Gandhi. He was offended by Singhvi's tweet.
