P. Chidambaram was sent to 14-day judicial custody

New delhi date. October 30, 2019, Wednesday

Former Union Minister P.K. Chidambaram's judicial custody has been increased. Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody. However, the court rejected the ED's request to extend the one-day custody. ED sought Chidambaram's custody for 1 more day, but the court refused.

During the hearing, the ED told the court that Chidambaram could not be questioned for longer. At present, some questions are being sought from ED Chidambaram, so one day custody may be increased.

It is noteworthy that the CBI arrested Chidambaram on August 21 on INX media matter. The name of the former Union minister and his daughter Karti Chidambaram had come out. Although he has been granted bail in the court on this matter, he is in custody of ED for money laundering and is locked up in Tihar jail.
