The meeting, held last week, reviewed the infrastructure needed by the country by 2025. Citing the officer involved in the meeting, the report said that 600 pilots would be trained locally every year, with the launch of new airports. There will also be attempts to double the number of planes in five years. The government wants to speed up the economy through infrastructure projects.

The neighboring country of China is also increasing the number of airports. China aims to build another 450 airports by 2035. Three years ago, there were only 75 runways operating in India. The Modi government has so far linked 38 airports to the aviation map of the country.
