India falls to lower rank than Pakistan in Global Hunger Index

In the Global Hunger Index with names of 117 countries, India was found to be even lower than Pakistan. India is the lowest rung in all South Asian countries. India is currently ranked at 102nd position.

Other Asian countries are ranked 66th to 94th in the list of 117 countries, while India is at 102nd position. India is the last place in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). South Africa has the worst situation in the BRICS countries. Is at 59th place.

In 2015, India was ranked 93rd on the list. At that time, Pakistan was on a lower footing than India. Today, Pakistan is on the upward trajectory of India, even though its economic condition is poor.

The list includes the number of children who suffer from malnutrition, their weight relative to the height of these children, the death rate of children up to the age of five, etc.

According to the list, only nine per cent of children between the ages of six months and 23 months in India get the minimum allowable meal. According to a recent report by the Union Ministry of Finance, the figure was six-and-a-half percent. According to the Global Hunger Index report, Nepal performed the best in this direction since 2000.
