If the Imran Khan government raised taxes, people took to the streets

Islamabad, Ta. Wednesday 30 October 2019

Pakistanis have come out on the road against the new tax rules of the Imran Khan government. On Tuesday some closed in protest of major market and trade. Salespeople are protesting the tax levied on the performing merchants. Atiq Mir, president of All Karachi Traders Alliance, said that with the new tax system, we would kill the merchant.

Pakistan's economic situation is constantly deteriorating. In July, the IMF cleared the way for $ 6 billion, saying it was improving public finance.

According to the IMF's advice, the Imran Khan government has emphasized increasing tax revenue. This will prevent the fiscal deficit from escalating and keep the money coming to the treasury for development.

More shops, malls and shopping complexes closed in Pakistan on Tuesday to protest the government's decision to levy tax. Traders took to the road and staged a protest. This is the second demonstration since July, in which traders were called to the Pakistan Bandh in protest of the new tax rule.
