On the occasion of World Food Day, the EU raised concerns about food shortages and wastage. According to the UN report, more than 800 million people suffer from food shortages on the one hand, while millions of tonnes of food goes to waste on the other. If this management is organized, then no one in the world would go hungry.

World Food Day is celebrated every year by the UN to raise awareness about food shortages and food waste. The report, released on the occasion, said that some 200 million people in the world suffer from obesity. That is, their weight is much larger than their body structure and they are responsible for their excessive eating habits.

In addition, millions of tons of food are wasted annually in the world. For one reason or another the grain is wasted. On the other hand, eight million people in the world are suffering from severe food shortages every year.

These people also have to starve for plain food in a tank. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern over the matter and called on the world to set up proper food management.

He said the new target of the world is Zero Hunger. People all over the world need to work together so that no one in the world will go to bed hungry. He said that when the Food System Summit is met in 2021, a good and sustainable solution to this problem will be found.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, India has the highest number of malnourished people. According to a report by the UN affiliated organization, 1.94 million people in the country suffer from malnutrition.

Twenty-five percent of children under the age of five in the country suffer from underweight. Not only that, 37% of children below the age of five in the country due to lack of affordable food are also very small in proportion to their age.
