Debit and credit card data of 13 lakh Indians leaked online

Nearly 13 lakh Indians have debated the debit card and credit card information in the banking sector.

Joker Stash is selling the details of this card on a website. It is believed that hackers have stolen data by skimming the magnetic stripe on the card while using the card user's ATM machine or point of sale machine.

According to a Singapore data analysis agency, 98 per cent of the information being sold is from Indians. As of September 2019, the number of debit and credit cards in India is 9.71 crore. Data is included. Gems are used only for online transactions or for card cloning.

The data for each card on the site is being sold for $ 100, which is about Rs 7000. Singapore's data analysis firm has informed the concerned authorities.

According to informants, in other countries, such data leakage is required to inform customers within 24 hours. In India, only consumers are aware of leakage information.

It is not revealed which bank this card belongs to, but 18% of the cards are said to belong to the same bank.
